OVERVIEW

Responsible for directing and coordinating maintenance operations with a focus on mechanical maintenance functions such as preventative and corrective actions on scrolls, pumps and centrifugal machines. The Maintenance Supervisor drives a culture of safety, ensures compliance with company policies, identifies improvement opportunities and leads corrective action plans.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Directs the maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by eliminating hazards, training employees, and promoting safety awareness.
  • Oversees incident reporting and root cause analysis, taking corrective action to reduce safety risks and maintenance problems.
  • Reviews, approves, and schedules maintenance work orders while inspecting work in progress for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinated daily maintenance work to maximize equipment uptime using available tools, materials, and manpower.
  • Manages personnel to maximize repair efficiency and monitors maintenance tasks for compliance with quality and GMP requirements.
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs in accordance with manufacturer’s or engineering guidelines, managing resource allocation and scheduling.
  • Maintains accurate departmental records for all equipment and company property.
  • Interfaces with outside vendors for equipment, parts purchases, and submits proposals for new equipment or part purchases.
  • Reviews costs and eliminates unnecessary spending on supplies and machine parts.
  • Supervises special maintenance/engineering projects, ensuring highest workmanship and preparing related documentation.
  • Ensures all areas and equipment maintain good housekeeping conditions and reviews time cards for accuracy.
  • Conducts daily safety contacts and monthly safety meetings, and tracks scheduling and costs for contracted and major maintenance projects.
  • Assists the Reliability Engineer/Planner in developing outage plans and other maintenance work plans as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems with respect to rotating and fixed equipment; electrical knowledge is a plus.
  • Familiarity with NDT methods and ability to interpret vibration and oil analysis reports.
  • Computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with SAP or a similar inventory and preventive maintenance program is a plus but not required.
  • Experience with a CMMS platform (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards or similar) is required.
  • Strong team‑building skills and ability to work well with internal and external customers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including report writing.
  • Proficiency with office equipment such as fax machines, copiers, and calculators.
  • Ability to keep abreast of new technology and apply it to improve performance.
  • Flexibility to work weekends (rotating), daily overtime, and 2nd/3rd shift as required.
WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Five or more years of related experience.
  • Three years of maintenance supervisory experience preferred.
  • Prior experience in a machine shop and equipment garage environment preferred.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED.

LOCATION

Baltimore, MD

PAY RANGES

$73,500 – $136,500 plus bonus, depending on qualifications and prior experience.
