Job Summary
As a Painter in Senior Living, you will play a vital role in maintaining a visually appealing and comfortable environment for our senior residents. Your primary responsibility is to execute painting tasks with precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety guidelines. By ensuring the interior and exterior areas are well-maintained and aesthetically pleasing, you will contribute to the overall well-being and satisfaction of senior residents.
Job Responsibilities- Execute painting projects efficiently and effectively, including but not limited to walls, ceilings, doors, trims, and other surfaces as required.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching, and priming as necessary, ensuring a smooth and clean finish.
- Assist in selecting appropriate colors and materials, considering the preferences of senior residents, existing decor, and any specific requirements.
- Identify areas that require maintenance or repair, such as cracks, holes, or water damage, and take appropriate action to ensure a durable and long-lasting paint job.
- Follow safety procedures and guidelines, including the proper handling and storage of paints, solvents, and equipment; ensure work areas are safe and free from hazards during painting projects.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff, supervisors, and other departments to schedule and plan painting projects, ensuring minimal disruption to residents' daily routines.
- Perform regular maintenance on painting tools and equipment to ensure their proper functioning; report any malfunctions or equipment needs to the appropriate supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of paint colors, quantities used, and other relevant information to facilitate future touch-ups and maintenance work.
- Conduct regular inspections of completed paint jobs to ensure high-quality standards are met; make necessary touch-ups or corrections as required.
- Interact with senior residents in a courteous and professional manner, addressing their concerns and providing exceptional service.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Previous experience as a professional painter, preferably in a residential or senior living environment.
- Solid knowledge of various painting techniques, materials, and tools.
- Familiarity with color schemes and design principles to create visually appealing spaces.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple painting projects simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented with excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to painting and maintenance tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with senior residents and colleagues effectively.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that require standing, bending, and lifting.
- Painting expertise, including surface preparation, color selection, paint application, and finishing touches.
- Attention to detail and the ability to identify and correct imperfections such as cracks or uneven surfaces.
- Safety consciousness, using proper protective gear and following safety procedures for handling paints and chemicals.
- Customer-service orientation, communicating effectively, and responding to residents' needs and concerns.
- Time-management skills, planning, prioritizing tasks, and meeting project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Adaptability and flexibility to adjust work schedules and approaches for dynamic environments.
- Collaboration and teamwork, actively participating in team discussions to support successful projects.
- Problem-solving ability, finding practical solutions for challenges such as furniture placement or resident requests.
- Organization and record-keeping to maintain accurate documentation of paint colors and project details.
- Physical stamina to stand for extended periods, reach overhead, bend, and lift heavy objects safely.
