This position is located in Baltimore, MD.
The core working hours are 1:30 pm – 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
The hourly wage is $24.11.
This is a Full‑Time position offering a competitive salary.
This position requires successful completion of a criminal history background check, drug screening, and the ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance. It may require use of a personal vehicle to transport persons‑served. All Melwood transportation policies must be followed. Liability insurance on your personal vehicle must remain in full force while transporting for or on behalf of Melwood.
Melwood will reimburse mileage pursuant to the Travel policy.
Under the supervision of the Custodial Foreman, the employee performs cleaning tasks necessary to meet custodial contract specifications and assists in monitoring the custodial crew’s work.
Key Responsibilities- Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and offices.
- Empty tenants’ waste baskets and dispose of trash in the prescribed manner.
- Dust horizontal surfaces.
- Clean bathrooms.
- Wax and buff floors with prescribed buffers.
- Clean glass and windows.
- Wash walls and other vertical surfaces.
- Perform snow removal if required by contract specifications.
- Polish kick panels, door knobs, and other designated fixtures.
- Strip and wax floors.
- Vacuum rugs.
- Mix cleaning solutions.
- Maintain issued equipment.
- Notify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasks.
- Supervise activities of assigned workers on a temporary basis while performing own work.
- Assume responsibility of crew during the absence of the foreman.
- Perform all other duties assigned by the Custodial Foreman.
The incumbent is supervised by the Custodial Foreman.
Physical QualificationsThe incumbent must be able to stand or walk 90% of the work time; sit 10%. They must lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipment. Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching are required. Ability to use ladders and stairs, clean low areas, high areas, benches, and corners is necessary. Good vision, depth perception, and color discrimination for safety reasons are required.
The incumbent must communicate with supervisors and coworkers.
High School Diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of custodial work experience are required. Some supervisory experience preferred. Prior experience with individuals with differing abilities preferred. Must be able to pass security clearance.
