Maintenance Assistant - Carroll Park Healthcare
Carroll Park Healthcare is looking for a dynamic and energetic individual to fill a Maintenance Assistant role in a skilled nursing facility setting. No experience is required.
- Follow maintenance and repair schedules for all areas of the facility and grounds.
- Follow proper procedures for care, use, maintenance, and repair of equipment.
- Identify and report to supervisor any equipment malfunction.
- Identify and report to supervisor areas in poor repair.
- Assist with general maintenance such as painting, moving furniture, and other small jobs.
- Accept and exhibit responsibility to make sound management decisions.
- Work flexible hours and report to work within 20 minutes for urgent situations.
- Maintain work area free of hazardous conditions, such as spills, excessive supplies, equipment, etc.
- Keep work and storage areas clean, neat, sanitary, and safe.
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
- Willingness to perform a variety of simple repetitive tasks, many of which will involve unpleasant conditions.
- Practical knowledge of day-to-day cleaning in a long-term care facility.
- Effective verbal and written English communication skills.
- Highest level of professionalism with ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, take initiative and make independent decisions.
- Ability to handle new tasks without written procedures.
- Approachable, flexible, and adaptable to change.
- Function independently and work effectively with staff and vendors with flexibility and integrity.
Push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds to a height of three (3) feet and be able to move such weight a minimum distance of fifty (50) feet. (Not a complete list)
PreferredSkills:
Maintenance experience in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
