Shift ScheduleMonday‑Friday day shift, no weekends.
About the RoleThis position is responsible for general facility, building and equipment maintenance and repair, both scheduled and unscheduled tasks, as assigned by the Call Center and/or Facilities and Maintenance management.
- Work order completion and preventative maintenance completion.
- Problem identification and resolution, determining necessary material and supplies.
- Documentation of activities and use of the Computer Maintenance Management System.
- Communication with department management.
- Maintain, repair, and replace equipment and components of new and existing mechanical systems, such as sterilizers, vacuum pumps, compressors, appliances, pumps, circulators, cooling towers, air handling equipment, regulators, generators, and kitchen equipment, in accordance with departmental procedures, manufacturer’s specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Determine project scope of work, schedules, manpower, materials, and equipment needed to complete tasks.
- Maintain work areas, equipment rooms, and tools to be operational, clean, and orderly.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks as assigned and assist higher classification personnel as required.
- Document work activity by written means and electronically via the Computer Maintenance Management System.
- Read and interpret written specifications, work orders, oral instructions, diagrams, blueprints, and sketches.
- Mentor newly assigned employees and provide technical training and guidance.
- Coordinate mechanical work schedules with electricians, HVACR mechanics, plumbers, carpenters, and other trade mechanics to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
- Utilize hardware supplies and equipment as required and apply industrial products as directed.
- Use computer‑based hospital systems for education, performance reviews, email, and related functions.
- Education:
Associate’s degree preferred. - Experience:
5 to 7 years of high‑level knowledge of maintenance systems and documented training or experience in 120 v/208 v/277 v/460 v electrical, pump repair and motor alignment, and compressor/vacuum pump repair. - Certification and Licensure:
Full MD driver’s license and good driving record.
Union rate $22.29 per hour.
