Maintenance Mechanic Skilled Trades

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll take ownership of building systems—keeping HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment running smoothly through proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. This role is central to ensuring the facility operates efficiently and stays compliant with healthcare standards.

- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and building systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair building equipment, power distribution, lighting, and control systems.
- Monitor and maintain boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, valves, refrigeration equipment, and other facility infrastructure.
- Complete work orders and document maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Operate and monitor Building Automation/Facility Management Systems (BAS/FMS).
- Conduct routine facility inspections and identify equipment deficiencies or safety concerns.
- Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors supporting facility maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and communicate equipment status to Facilities Management.
- Respond to service requests and emergency maintenance situations in a timely manner.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA requirements, healthcare regulations, and all site safety policies.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Technical or trade school training preferred.
- Minimum two (2) year of commercial building maintenance experience.
- Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience using CMMS software preferred.
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Maryland Stationary Engineer Grade 3 License preferred.
- EPA Universal (CFC) Certification preferred.
- Experience supporting hospitals, healthcare facilities, laboratories, or other regulated environments.
- Additional trade certifications are a plus.
- Physical Requirements
- Frequently walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, and work overhead.
- Lift up to 80 pounds.
- Work from ladders up to 40 feet.
- Climb ladders while carrying tools and equipment.
- Perform inspections in confined or difficult-to-access spaces.
- Ability to distinguish audible and visual alarms.
- Pay: $30-40 Hourly (depending on experience)
- Eligible for overtime pay
