JobOverview
The objective of a Maintenance Engineer is to exceed guest expectations of the overall maintenance, functionality, and ambiance of the property grounds, interior, and exterior.
What You'll Do- Communicate with Front Desk staff, the Maintenance Manager, and/or the General Manager regarding grounds‑related problems or issues that require immediate attention.
- Perform daily inspection of property for maintenance issues.
- Train new staff members.
- Clean and maintain all exterior landscape lighting.
- Perform necessary room touch‑ups and repairs— including furniture, fixtures, basic electrical, basic plumbing, and HVAC system repair.
- Help the Maintenance Manager ensure the property passes all city, safety, and ADA codes.
- Perform all regularly scheduled maintenance operations (filters, paint, updates, furniture change‑out, etc.).
- Maintain all equipment/tools; report the condition of all equipment/tools and notify the General Manager when broken, lost, etc.
- Manage off‑site maintenance and landscaping purchasing.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of warehouse area.
- Coordinate special projects with other managers and staff.
- Communicate with Housekeeping staff regarding room cleanliness/condition.
- Responsible for the maintenance of company vehicles if applicable.
- Problem‑solve and implement methods to improve the department.
- High School Diploma or General Education Degree.
- 1+ year of related maintenance experience preferred.
- Can speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace.
- Can read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Can write routine reports and correspondence.
- Can speak effectively before guests and groups of co‑workers.
