This is an excellent opportunity for entry-level candidates, retirees, or anyone who enjoys hands-on work in a positive, team-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, comfortable using basic hand and power tools, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Basic Functions- Assist the Director of Facilities to maintain the building, building equipment and grounds.
- Provide preventative maintenance service.
- Assist and coordinate workload with subcontractors.
- Maintain building, building equipment, and grounds.
- Ensure that the building, building equipment and grounds are maintained to operating efficiency to provide a pleasant appearance and safe environment for our patrons, guests, and staff.
- Perform work orders on a timely basis.
- Fix, replace, or repair items that may be broken, damaged, or in marginal condition.
- Respond to emergency situations as they arise.
- Follow proper maintenance schedules and record proper logbook notations.
- Assist sub-contractors as scheduled.
- Ensure that the best interests of MSC are served.
- Ensure disruption of programs and guests does not occur.
- May perform some of the work of a senior-level position in the process of gaining knowledge necessary for advancement and may also perform some of the work in a lower-rated position when required.
- Normal duties and responsibilities include assistance to other employees.
Knowledge of:
- Electrical repair techniques
- Basic plumbing
- Basic HVAC
- Basic carpentry
- Basic painting, experienced commercial painting a plus
- Basic knowledge of wall repair (drywall and plaster)
- Good manual dexterity
- Good communication
- Mechanical, within code for this building
- Lift and carry heavy objects
- Utilize good common sense
- Follow instructions

Supervision Received:
Direction provided by the Director of Facilities.
Education:
High School Diploma, G.E.D., or Vo Tech equivalent required. Technical schools, certificate courses are a plus.
Experience:
3 to 5 years of general building maintenance
Basic Requirements:
Must be able to pass a background check
Compensation: $19.00 - $21.00 hourly
Hours:
Between 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Friday. Some evening and weekend hours required as needed.
