Compensation:$25.00-$27.00 per hour and a comprehensive benefits package

SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Assistant Director of Facilities, the Maintenance Technician is a full-time (40 hours per week), essential position that may require overtime as needed. This role works closely with other maintenance staff to support daily maintenance operations and is responsible for completing work orders and assigned projects in a timely and efficient manner. The Maintenance Technician also participates in an on-call rotation to respond to after-hours maintenance emergencies.
During on-call rotation, the employee must remain within a 30-minute response radius and be available to respond within the required timeframe.
During severe inclement weather, personnel may be required to live on-site to address facility emergencies that arise.
- Responds to maintenance requests and service calls within a reasonable timeframe.
- Identifies facility deficiencies and recommends appropriate corrective actions.
- Participates in the after-hours on-call response rotation.
- Works mandatory overtime as needed to support operational needs.
- Maintains availability during peak move-out and move-in periods, including blackout periods in May and August when time-off requests may be restricted.
- Provides on-site escort support for contractors and vendors as required.
- Assists with room set-ups, furniture movement, and related facilities support tasks.
- Performs inspections and completes necessary repairs when residential units are vacated.
- Conducts daily general inspections of assigned building(s) and reports findings to the Assistant Director of Facilities.
- Completes preventive maintenance assignments in a timely manner.
- Submits requests for materials, supplies, and equipment needed to complete repairs.
- Communicates daily with the manager regarding work progress, priorities, and emerging issues.
- Demonstrates job knowledge, technical skill , and quality workmanship at all times .
- Performs other duties as assigned by the direct manager on site.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2-5 years of general maintenance experience
- 1-2 years of PTAC and AC maintenance experience
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to participate in an after- hours on-call duty rotation and respond to Morgan State University campus within 30 minutes.
- Must be proficient with the use of hand and power tools.
- Must have basic knowledge of HVAC
- Demonstrate proficiency in verbal communication.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to handle situations on their own.
- Ability to move and lift to 50lbs and navigate up and down stairs.
