Role overview
Step into a hands-on leadership role guiding four multi-trade maintenance crews who install, repair, and fabricate metal parts and tools to keep terminal assets running safely, reliably, and efficiently. Your work will minimize downtime, strengthen safety and quality standards, and keep terminal traffic and operations moving.
A day in the life- Begin by reviewing overnight work orders in the CMMS, confirming corrective and preventative tasks across structural, electrical, fire suppression, railroads, and perimeter fencing systems.
- Walk the site to verify equipment health, troubleshoot issues alongside technicians, and assist in diagnosing malfunctions on mechanical and electrical systems.
- Direct employees and contractors with the Manager, aligning priorities to production schedules and terminal operational needs.
- Coordinate multiple vendors and contractors for repairs, enhancements, and improvement projects; communicate status updates clearly and on time.
- Balance short-term fixes with long-term reliability actions, recommending ways to improve production methods, equipment performance, and cost control.
- Estimate labor hours for planned work, support annual budget development, and assist with planning for the annual operations shutdown.

Safety, Sustainability & Continuance Improvement; provide ongoing feedback and ensure compliance with labor contracts and agreements. - Stay ready to respond to emergent issues and off-hours maintenance emergencies; provide round-the-clock coverage as needed.
- Pitch in on the tools when required—you’re capable of performing the work you supervise.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering preferred. - 5+ years of mechanical/industrial maintenance experience, including safety practices; fabrication and welding; production environments; maintenance software; economics, equipment usage, and staff utilization.
- Proven capability with repairs and preventative/predictive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment, executed to established standards.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Computer proficiency with CMMS, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Analytical mindset and working knowledge of bulk material handling systems; familiarity with company policies, practices, and precedents.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).
