Maintenance Manager

A well-established and growing manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to provide leadership for the maintenance and technical operations at one of its Baltimore-area facilities.

Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position will have a direct impact on equipment reliability, plant productivity, maintenance strategy, and continuous improvement. The successful candidate will lead a team of maintenance professionals while developing systems and processes that improve uptime, reduce unplanned interruptions, and support the facility's long-term operational goals.

This is a non-union, mid-sized manufacturing operation and an opportunity for a hands-on leader who can balance strategic planning with day-to-day problem solving.

• Provide leadership, direction, and development for a small team of salaried and hourly maintenance and technical employees.
• Establish maintenance priorities based on production requirements, equipment condition, reliability data, and business needs.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve the facility's preventive and reliability-centered maintenance practices

• Partner closely with Production and Operations leadership to identify recurring equipment issues and develop solutions that improve throughput and minimize downtime.
• Provide technical guidance and support when troubleshooting complex mechanical and operational issues involving conveyors, piping, packaging equipment, and related systems.
• Plan and coordinate equipment repairs, maintenance activities, and shutdown work to minimize disruption to manufacturing operations.
• Monitor maintenance performance and ensure work is properly documented, tracked, and completed in accordance with established standards.
• Lead capital improvement and equipment investment projects from planning through implementation.
• Select, coordinate, and oversee outside contractors, service providers, and specialized technical resources as needed.
• Promote a strong safety culture by reinforcing safe work practices, appropriate training, regulatory compliance, and accountability throughout the maintenance organization.
• Evaluate emerging maintenance technologies, equipment capabilities, and industry practices to identify opportunities for improved reliability and efficiency.
• Drive a culture of continuous improvement and change

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of technical expertise, maintenance leadership, and operational experience, including:

• Bachelor's degree in Maintenance, Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field.
• At least five years of progressive maintenance experience within a manufacturing, production, distribution, or similarly equipment-intensive environment.
• A minimum of three years of experience managing or leading maintenance personnel

• Demonstrated success implementing or strengthening preventive maintenance and equipment reliability programs
  .
• Experience managing capital projects
  , including equipment upgrades, installations, or facility improvements.
• A track record of successfully leading teams through operational or organizational change.
• Strong problem-solving skills and an analytical approach to diagnosing equipment and reliability issues.
• A demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• The ability to work effectively with Production, Operations, vendors, contractors, and other cross-functional partners.

This role is well suited to a maintenance professional who is comfortable operating at both the strategic and hands-on levels
