JOB TITLE

Lead Cook

JOB PURPOSE

To bring passion and creativity to the front line of the kitchen where the food is prepared, cooked, and plated to the highest standard.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

- Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.

- Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, preparing sauces, measure ingredients)

- Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.

- Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.

- Stock inventory appropriately.

- Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.

- Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

- Assist in training and supporting of all kitchen support staff.

- Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.

- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

- Food Handlers Certificate

- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a similar position

- Fine Dining experience an asset

- Required to work a rotating schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

- First Aid Certificate an asset

- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.

- Successful reference and backcheck

WORKING CONDITIONS

- Ability to work in varying temperatures.

- Ability to stand for long periods of time.

- May be required to lift up to 30 lb
