- You have hands‑on experience preparing meals and snacks in a fast‑paced kitchen, following recipes, production sheets, and menu guidelines.
- You understand the importance of meeting prescribed dietary requirements, proper food temperatures, and portion control while maintaining high quality standards.
- Monitoring quality of food supplies received and advises team leader of problems and makes recommendations about corrective action.
- In the absence of the team leader, assumes responsibility for departmental operations including menu changes as necessary, requisitions and purchases food and other supplies from authorized suppliers.
- Grade 12 minimum education required
- A valid Safe Food Handling Certificate and/or Smart Serve certificate
- Experience with cooking in institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality
- You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work/study permit
- You must successfully pass a Vulnerable Sector Check
