Job Duties/ Responsibilities

• Plansaprogramofstudythatfollowsdistrictguidelinesand,asmuchaspossible,meetstheindividual needs, interests and abilities of students.
• Implements researched-basedteachingstrategiesthatengageallstudents;acknowledgingarangeof abilities of students and cultural backgrounds.
• Createsanenvironmentconducivetolearningandmotivatesstudentsthrougheffectivecommunication and evaluative feedback.
• Implementscurrentdistrictcurriculumandsubjectmatterthatisgradelevelappropriate.
• Plansforandguidesthelearning processtowardthemasteryof curriculum goals, andestablishesclear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects that are clearly communicated to students.
• Implementsschoolimprovementplansandstrategies.
• Collaborateswithcolleagues,students,and/orparentsonaregularbasis,andasrequestedbythe administration.
• Implementsformativeandsummativeassessmentsofstudentprogresstodriveinstructionand communicates progress to students and parents.
• Setshighexpectationsforstudentachievementandbehaviorandmotivatesstudentstoworktotheir highest potential.
• Assistsinthereferralanddiagnosisof studentswithlearningdifficulties,seekingassistancefromother school personnel as required.
• Workscooperativelywithbuildingprincipaland/ordirectorinassessinghis/herteachingstrengthsand weaknesses, and planning and implementing a program to improve his/her teaching competencies.
• Participatesoncurriculum,personnel,policyorprofessionaldevelopmentcommitteesrelatedtothe educational program.
• Maintains accurate,complete,andcorrectrecordsasrequiredbylawanddistrictpolicy.
• Assistsadministrationinimplementingstudentdisciplinepoliciesandmaintainsorderinarea(s) assigned and/or supervised in a fair and just manner.
• Performsotherdutiesas assigned.

• Bachelor'sdegreeinrelatedsubjectfromaccrediteduniversity(Required).
• Appropriate Illinoisteachingcertificate(Required).

  The Center for Talent Development'sGifted Education Boot Camp , mustbecompletedwithin thefirstyearofteachinganigniteposition.
  
  Thecourseincludesaminimumof
  15hoursofprofessionaldevelopmentactivities.

• Knowledgeofthe Illinois Learning Standards (CCSS
  2014).
• Knowledgeofandabilitytoimplementthe Rt Iprocessandtieredinstructionandinterventions .
• Teachingexperienceispreferred,butnotnecessaryforhiring.
  • Experienceinatleastoneofthegradelevelsofamulti-grade(Preferred).
  • Recentexperienceinthesoughtposition(Preferred).

• Requiresprolongedsittingorstanding.
• Occasionallyrequiresphysicalexertiontomanuallymove,liftcarry,pull,orpushheavyobjectsor materials.
• Occasional stooping,bending,and reaching.

• Thisisa9-month position.
• Salaryandbenefitsasestablishedbythe Boardof Education .
• The starting salary for this position is $60,689.
