OverviewObjective:
Design and detail automated equipment according to a project leads concepts. Capable of a small to medium automatic assembly station, from concept to design completion, or any size replication project. Responsible for staying within the budget and schedule assigned by Lead Engineer.
Responsibilities- Designs according to previously developed concepts, layouts, assemblies and detail drawings, schematics, and bills of materials used in producing custom machinery
- Thorough knowledge of design practices and tolerances
- Design cam, servo, and air operated stations, and to make changes to existing designs.
- Ensure the design is functional, robust, and cost effective.
- Innovate and use good judgment to incorporate BBS Automation standards and regulatory requirements.
- Research and specify appropriate materials and purchased components.
- Create detail drawings, assembly drawings, Bill of Materials, organize release packages, and update drawings.
- Audits own engineering work for accuracy and completeness
- Work with suppliers to find/develop the most functional and economical solutions to design issues.
- Work under the confines of the project schedule and budget.
- Problem-solve detail issues and update all appropriate documentation.
- Has basic knowledge of machine qualification methods; knowledge of SPC or quality practices a plus
- Provides necessary information to the Technical writer
- Communicate ideas and comprehend information both verbally and in written form.
- Assimilate well within a team and exhibit objectivity and openness to others views.
- Follow all policy and procedures to maintain ISO
13485 certification requirements. - Prioritizes, plans, and organizes work and workspace.
- Provide necessary documentation and support for machinery Operating Manuals.
- Make recommendations for quality and cost improvements.
- Keeps abreast of current product developments.
- Travel or extend work day if required.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- B.S. degrees in Mechanical, Electrical, or Engineering Technology, or, with lesser education, possess and demonstrates a high level of Mechanical device understanding.
Experience:
- Solid technical capabilities
- Fluent in the use of 3D CAD (Solid Works); working knowledge of 2D AutoCAD is a plus
- Good computer skills with proficiency in all Microsoft Office Software
- Comprehension of office copiers, printers / plotters, etc.
- Knowledge in inspection and measuring tools such as scales, calipers, micrometers, multi-meters, dB meters, etc.
