If you can trace a fault, open up a PLC program, and get a packaging line moving again before the shift falls behind, this Controls Technician role is built for you. This is day shift, direct hire work on a maintenance reliability team where you will troubleshoot, wire, and program instead of just swapping parts. Best fit for someone who already knows their way around Allen Bradley and an electrical schematic.

This is a privately held, family owned contract packaging company that has been packaging products for major food and consumer brands since 1999. They run more than 70 production lines across their Chicagoland facilities, covering everything from bagging and cartoning to thermoforming and cup filling. Uptime on those lines is what the business runs on, so this role sits at the center of it.

Fully onsite in a mixed office and warehouse environment.

You get a straight day schedule on a controls role, which is rare, and a team that pulls you in on the interesting work: building control cabinets, programming HMIs, and integrating conveyors with OEM equipment. Benefits start the first of the month after you start, and you are eligible for an annual bonus. It is a stable, growing operation with a strong quality and safety record.

• Troubleshoot and maintain PLC equipment and automated systems across multiple production lines
• Diagnose and replace faulty electrical components including relays, switches, motors, sensors, and VFDs
• Wire electrical panels from schematics and design small control cabinets for conveyors and other equipment
• Write and modify programs and HMI screens to integrate conveyor systems with OEM equipment
• Respond to major breakdowns, identify root cause, and train maintenance team members on basic electrical tasks

Schedule:

6am-2pm, Monday-Friday

Hourly Compensation: $32.00 to $46.00, based on experience

• 1 or more years of hands on experience as a Controls Technician, Controls Electrician, PLC Programmer, or in a related maintenance role inside a manufacturing facility
• Working knowledge of Allen Bradley, Rockwell Automation, RSLogix 500, and Studio 5000, including the ability to connect a laptop and modify PLC and HMI programs
• Ability to troubleshoot electrical circuits up to 480V, VFDs, 3 phase motors, inverters, and servos using meters and tracers
• Ability to read electrical schematics, prints, wiring diagrams, and nameplates
• Valid driver's license, insurability under the company policy, and your own set of tools
