Substitute Bus Driver

SUBSTITUTE BUS DRIVER

The Hanover Township Aging Services Bus Drivers are responsible for transporting older adults (55+) and individuals with disabilities (18+) to and from their residences for medical appointments, personal appointments, and other scheduled trips. The position operates Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM, Saturdays 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and occasionally evenings.

Pay: $19.00 per hour. The position is non‑exempt.

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Must have a valid Illinois driver’s license.
• At least two years’ experience in transportation preferred.
• The applicant must pass a physical, background check, drug screen and have a clean driving record.
• Knowledge of the Hanover Township area and experience with older adults is a plus.

• Candidates must possess excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to read and interpret maps while working with mature adults and individuals with disabilities who may have limitations in hearing, sight, or mobility.
• Must be comfortable operating a tablet utilizing dispatch software.
• Must complete training from PACE within sixty days of hire.
• Up to 40 hours of paid leave for all workers per year.
• Paid training provided by Hanover Township.
• Access to Hanover Township’s Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
