Supervises associates by assigning duties, communicating goals, providing feedback and follow-up, and monitoring performance. Teaches and supports company policies and procedures and ensures compliance. Participates in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, job shadowing, technician certification, and evaluation of associates. Maintains quality and safety standards in assigned area of responsibility by ensuring the equipment, tools, and supplies used by associates are in proper working order and readily available at the start of each work shift.
Ensures associates are trained on Logistics and company policies and procedures and monitors compliance. Distributes and maintains procedures and supporting documentation. Assigns and supports work activities to ensure compliance with external rules and regulations (for example, OSHA, Hazardous Waste, NFPA, Storm Water, DOT). Serves as an expert in landscape management. Manages assigned areas using horticulture methods and solutions. Maintains garden beds, containers, and landscape plants.
Leverages technology (for example, phones, tablets, laptops) to complete work orders and maintain records, logs, and documentation. Performs landscaping tasks (for example, cutting grass, weed management, raking leaves). Applies planting and pruning techniques as needed. Identifies and resolves pest and disease issues through chemical applications. Uses heavy machinery. Troubleshoots and provides customer service by communicating with facility users. Resolves customer problems and complaints.
Ensures work environments are maintained according to Walmart policies and procedures. Performs seasonal exterior maintenance activities, including snow and ice management, by operating snow removal equipment, applying de-icing materials, clearing walkways, drives, and exterior areas, and supporting winter preparedness and response activities to maintain safe facility conditions. Evaluates current and future replacement needs (for example, mulch, rocks, trees, shrubs, sod replacement).
Implements upgrades to convert the facility into a sustainable unit. Explores potential improvements to lower operating costs. Coordinates with Home Office support to standardize equipment and reduce on-hand stock. Sources tool and equipment purchases to perform repairs. Ensures completed work meets quality and safety requirements. Prepares and executes budgets by developing cost estimates on requested and planned projects. Approves purchases of parts, materials, equipment, and supplies.
Provides technical assistance and consultation to facilitate purchases. Verifies purchase receipt and acceptance. Maintains vehicles in working mechanical (basic maintenance) and cleanliness condition. Coordinates and takes vehicles for required maintenance, ensuring beforehand that alternate driving support is arranged. Safely operates motor vehicles and ensures vehicles have all the required documents. Checks fuel and water levels, brake condition, signals, and lights.
Submits maintenance invoices for payment. Verifies the coverage and validity of vehicle insurance. Wears company uniform and badge according to company policies and procedures. Operates, inspects, and maneuvers heavy machinery and powered equipment (for example, forklifts, material handling equipment, industrial machines, shop equipment, vehicles) in accordance with training, certification requirements, and safety procedures. Performs pre-operation safety checks and post-operation inspections to ensure equipment is safe, functional, and compliant with applicable standards.
Identifies unsafe conditions, equipment malfunctions, or potential hazards and takes appropriate corrective action or escalates as required. When not in use, ensure vehicles are properly locked, keys are stored per protocol, and vehicles are available for inspection or reassignment as needed. Parks all assigned work vehicles at the designated Walmart parking location(s) as outlined by Walmart policies. Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools;
determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and modeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges. Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources;
