Company Overview

We are not your conventional construction company. We are an industry leader for commercial fencing and an ambitious, growth‑oriented firm committed to taking on complex projects that others avoid. With a double‑digit growth rate over the last four years, we are on a trajectory to double in size again over the next two years.

Summary of Action

The Equipment Maintenance Tech / Fabricator plays a vital role in keeping our field operations moving by ensuring our fleet, trailers, and specialized tools are safe, reliable, and field‑ready. This position is dynamic: out of the gates, you will focus heavily on tackling a current backlog of equipment maintenance and repair work. However, because repair needs fluctuate, this role bridges the gap between maintenance and production.

When repair work is caught up, particularly during quieter winter months, you will pivot to supporting our production team on structural fabrication.

This position is ideal for a self‑motivated fixer and builder who thrives in a fast‑paced shop environment, possesses strong diagnostic grit, and enjoys variety in their daily work. Success means clearing the repair backlog, establishing a disciplined preventative maintenance routine, and seamlessly stepping into a fabrication role to keep the shop moving efficiently year‑round.

Note:

Primary repair and major maintenance for our large, heavy equipment is typically outsourced to dealers or managed through lease agreements. This role focuses heavily on our internal fleet, trailers, small engines, and supporting shop fabrication.

Mission and Values

We are a people‑first organization committed to creating abundant opportunities through shared victory. We expect our team members to operate with an unrelenting pursuit of excellence and undying grit, while showing up as authentic, selfless, and team‑oriented individuals.

Key Responsibilities Equipment & Fleet Repair (Current Focus)
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues across trailers, truck wiring, moffett loaders, small engine equipment (demo saws, core drills), generators, and field welding units.
  • Tackle the immediate backlog of non‑operational equipment to restore fleet readiness.
  • Replace worn or defective components such as starters, pins, hydraulic lines, and specialized truck/trailer wiring.
  • Perform diagnostics on smaller shop and field assets to determine efficient repair plans.
Fabrication & Production Support (Seasonal/Fluid Focus)
  • Pivoting to Production:
Transition to fabrication and gate production work when repair volume is low, serving as a core member of the production team during quieter seasons (e.g., winter months).
  • Material Preparation:
Measure, cut, and bevel structural metals using shears, saws, or plasma torches; clean surfaces of rust or debris.
  • Fabrication Operations:
Operate welding and fabrication equipment to perform vertical, horizontal, uphill, overhead, and out‑of‑position welding to build gates, fences, and custom projects.
  • Quality Assurance:
Inspect completed fabrications for flaws, verify dimensions against specifications, and use grinders or sanders to smooth rough edges.
Preventative Maintenance & Inspections
  • Perform routine, disciplined inspections on trailers, towing systems, and small equipment to identify underlying faults and prevent costly field breakdowns.
  • Maintain compliance with DOT and OSHA safety standards for all handled assets.
  • Coordinate with Fleet & Logistics leadership to track what needs internal service versus what heavy equipment needs to be sent out to dealers/lessors.
Lifecycle & Asset Management
  • Track detailed repair histories, maintenance records, and overall asset conditions.
  • Maintain a clean shop parts inventory and proactively order replacements to minimize delays.
  • Perform cost/repair vs. replace assessments for small engines and…
