    - Friday (29 Hour Work Week)
Responsibilities
  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance of buildings, equipment, and vehicles; perform routine groundskeeping to ensure beautification of the landscape; perform minor plumbing and carpentry repair work; regularly clean building and sanitize as necessary.
Key Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance of Salvation Army vehicles; monitor and replenish all fluid levels.
  • Perform routine building maintenance activities; perform minor plumbing repairs required by leaking faucets and clogged toilets; perform carpentry work to repair dents and/or holes in walls and paint walls.
  • Monitor lighting and change bulbs when needed.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting.
  • Ability to perform strenuous, heavy work involving lifting and carrying of heavy objects (25‑50 lbs).
  • Physical ability to "team lift" heavy materials, supplies, and equipment (50‑100 lbs) occasionally.
  • Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing, and some climbing.
  • Ability to read and follow a map and/or hand‑written directions.
  • Work requires working with cleaning chemicals and may involve discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or G.E.D. and two years of experience in handling minor building and maintenance repairs; good skill in using hand and power tools; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Valid State Driver’s License
