Custodian

Overview

Our client, an educational institution dedicated to fostering a safe and clean learning environment, is seeking a Custodian to join their team. As a Custodian, you will be part of the Facilities Support team supporting the school's daily operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate reliability, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude.

Job Title: Custodian

Pay Rate: $11.00/hour

Position Type: 5-Month Contract with likely conversion to permanent

Shift: Monday - Friday; 5pm - 10pm (Extra hours available upon request)

• Clean and sanitize classrooms, restrooms, gyms, offices, and common areas
• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and wax floors to maintain cleanliness and safety
• Empty trash and recycling containers regularly
• Disinfect high-touch surfaces such as desks, doorknobs, and railings
• Refill supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, and set up or break down rooms for school events or activities

• Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred but not required
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, supplies, and safety procedures
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Ability to lift, bend, stand, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift
• Good communication skills and attention to detail
