Senior Manager of Maintenance
We're seeking a strategic and hands-on Senior Manager of Maintenance to lead maintenance and utilities operations at our Battle Creek manufacturing facility. In this role, you'll drive a proactive maintenance culture focused on predictive, preventive, and planned practices to maximize reliability, ensure food safety, and support operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, coaching, and developing a multi-skilled maintenance and utilities team
- Driving preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability
- Overseeing plant systems including production equipment, HVAC, boilers, and ammonia/glycol systems
- Managing maintenance parts, inventory, and cost controls
- Tracking and improving KPIs tied to uptime, reliability, and cost
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards (including SQF)
- Leading CMMS utilization and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) practices
- Partnering cross-functionally with Operations to optimize plant performance
What we're looking for includes:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and hands-on maintenance leadership experience will also be considered
- 10+ years of maintenance/engineering experience, including 8+ years in leadership
- Strong technical expertise in plant maintenance and utilities systems
- Proven leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience driving preventive maintenance and reliability initiatives
- CMRP certification (or ability to obtain) preferred
- Food manufacturing experience preferred
