Maintenance Technician

Hathaway Brown School seeks a Maintenance Technician to support a safe, efficient learning environment on our Shaker Heights campus. Responsibilities include performing routine and preventive maintenance on facilities, classrooms, and building systems; basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs; event setup; and responding to work orders. The technician will collaborate with school staff, follow safety protocols, and support an inclusive, student-centered community.

This role requires reliability, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on school buildings, classrooms, and campus facilities.
• Conduct basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical repairs as needed.
• Respond to and complete maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
• Support setup, breakdown, and basic logistics for school events and programs.
• Inspect facilities and report safety or repair needs to supervisors.
• Operate and maintain hand and power tools and related equipment safely.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines while working on campus.
• Collaborate with school staff to minimize disruption to teaching and learning.
• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, salting, and grounds support.
• Maintain clean, organized maintenance work areas and storage spaces.
