Maintenance Assistant

Majestic Care of Beckley seeks a Maintenance Assistant to support building and grounds upkeep. The role involves routine maintenance, equipment repair, and safety compliance.

The Maintenance Assistant performs basic activities related to maintenance and upkeep of building and grounds.

• Perform routine maintenance and repair required to keep the building and equipment in good working order.
• Daily follow‑up of the TELS system for building management and tracking of life safety and maintenance services/repairs.
• Monitor building and equipment renovations, remodeling, or replacement projects done by contractors.
• Under supervision, maintain and repair HVAC, refrigerators, boilers, washers, dryers and other equipment.
• Assist in painting, redecorating, carpentry, concrete, and masonry projects.
• Conduct and document routine inspection of fire control equipment and sprinkler systems.
• Maintain weekly facility log of domestic hot water temperature, generator checklist, and monthly fire alarm system testing and sprinkler pressure compliance.
• Coordinate and document monthly fire drills.
• Demonstrate empathy, courteous, kind and professional workplace behavior and customer services to all residents, Care Team Members, vendors, visitors and family members at all times.
• Attend all mandatory in‑services and complete all necessary Relias trainings scheduled.
• Keep abreast and discuss with supervisor or manager all necessary policies, procedures and business practices within the scope of the position held to effectively perform all duties assigned.

• High school diploma or equivalent, preferred but not required.
• One year of experience in building maintenance.
• Ability to use computers and the Microsoft Office suite of applications.
