Hillcrest Health & Living is looking for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented Director of Environmental Services to join our leadership team at Hillcrest Silver Ridge in Bellevue, NE.

What You’ll Do

As the Director of Environmental Services
, you will oversee the daily operations of maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, building systems, grounds, and environmental services at Hillcrest Silver Ridge. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for keeping the community safe, compliant, well‑maintained, and survey‑ready.

You will:
  • Develop, implement, and manage maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, and environmental services processes.
  • Oversee building upkeep, HVAC, PTAC units, plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, equipment, grounds, and general maintenance needs.
  • Maintain excellent building condition through preventive maintenance, timely repairs, and strong follow‑through.
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Problem‑solve building, equipment, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and special system concerns.
  • Refurbish apartments after resident move‑outs and support room readiness.
  • Ensure chemicals, equipment, building systems, and work practices remain compliant with company standards, State Survey expectations, OSHA regulations, and applicable codes.
  • Train team members on safety, sprinkler system shut‑off, fire and emergency panels, equipment use, and emergency procedures.
  • Lead environmental services team members, including hiring, onboarding, training, performance management, scheduling, workflow direction, and accountability.
  • Manage department resources, including budgeting, payroll, purchasing, invoice coding, and cost control.
  • Partner with the Administrator and community leadership to identify needs, solve issues, and support a safe resident environment.
  • Maintain positive, professional relationships with residents, families, vendors, team members, and leadership.
What We’re Looking For

We are looking for a hands‑on leader who understands building maintenance, team leadership, and the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming senior living environment.

The right candidate will be practical, responsive, organized, and comfortable jumping in to support the work while also leading the department with accountability and professionalism.

Ideal candidates will have:
  • At least one year of experience with HVAC and PTAC units required.
  • At least one year of experience with Life Safety Code and maintenance procedures preferred.
  • General knowledge of building upkeep, heating and air conditioning units, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and general building maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of surface repairs, cleaning processes, fixture care, and facility upkeep.
  • Experience leading maintenance, housekeeping, laundry, environmental services, or facilities team members preferred.
  • Ability to manage department workflow, priorities, schedules, and resources.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to respond quickly to building or resident needs.

    Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety, compliance, and quality.
  • Ability to remain calm, flexible, and professional in stressful or changing situations.
  • Comfort using technology, systems, and resources efficiently and effectively.
Education & Credentials
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
