Overview
City of Bellevue is hiring Janitorial Maintenance Aide 2 positions for the 2026 season. Schedule to be determined: 5 days a week, weekends required, 6:00am – 2:30pm. Supervision is limited and will diminish as proficiency in task performance and route familiarity become routine. The employee will then work independently on the basis of clear instructions. Work consists of routine and repetitive tasks, processes, and/or operations and will be performed cooperatively with other employees and completed in a manner that assures individual, co-worker, and public safety in all weather and working conditions.
Work is to be completed with appropriate efficiency and in a manner that commands the respect of or demonstrates appropriate courtesy to co-workers and the public.
Work schedule: Will vary and determined at time of hire by supervisor. Seasonal positions:
March 16, 2026 - September 15, 2026.
Location: will vary based on assignments and need.

- Janitorial Maintenance Aide 2 – primarily works independently but will assist full-time and other Maintenance Aide 2 employees with general maintenance and clean-up of park facilities.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms: dust, sweep, scrub, and mop floors, vacuum carpets, remove trash/recycling; clean windows, walls, counters and picnic tables, showers, drinking fountains, barbeques, pick up trash, litter in parks.
- Clean public restrooms, showers, drinking fountains, barbeques, pick up trash, and litter in parks.
- Proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Able to follow cleaning procedures and proper chemical use.
- Remove graffiti.
- Perform minor equipment and facility repairs.
- Respond to special cleaning requests as assigned.
- May fill in at the Community Centers for special cleaning assignments.
- Ability to communicate through Microsoft Outlook is required.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent, preferred maintenance experience.
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Preferred knowledge of preventative maintenance processes, techniques, and procedures.
- Exposure/experience adhering to safety rules and procedures is desirable.
- Required to possess a valid Washington driver's license by date of hire. Must have and maintain a good driving record according to City standards. Current original driver's abstract required at time of interview. Truck driving experience preferred.
- Preferred working knowledge and familiarity with hand-held power tools and related maintenance equipment.
- Basic mechanical skills and manual dexterity.
- Ability to learn to operate safely the equipment and machinery necessary to perform assigned tasks.
- Ability to listen and understand direction/instruction, communicate with team members, and respond to customers tactfully and courteously.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Candidate must pass criminal background check prior to being hired.
