Custodian

Overview

The Custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all areas assigned.

• Perform all duties listed on the daily schedule.
• Perform Hazardous Waste responsibilities including collecting, classifying, sorting, storing, shipping and receiving, labeling, cleaning, recycling, packaging of special and hazardous waste.
• Operate motorized cleaning equipment.
• Maintain daily upkeep of assigned area.
• Report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
• Comply with safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Spot risk behavior of others and self.
• Perform work assignments in a team with other employees.
• Perform repetitive tasks.
• Maintain clean work area.
• Follow all protocols, company procedures, policies, and rules.
• Take direction and respond to supervision.
• Talk with lead, supervisor, co-workers, managers, and customers in a professional manner.
• Fill in during staff shortage.
• Support shift lead in completing punch‑list items.
• Use proper personal protective equipment.
• Present a professional appearance and conduct.
• Understand customer service and satisfaction.
• Understand reporting systems and the environment.

No specific education requirement; 3‑6 months of training or experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

May need a valid driver’s license, completed safety and task training certification; forklift certification may be required.

Bilingual a plus.

Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment and willingness to share with the team.

Knowledge of upkeep and care of cleaning equipment.

Knowledge of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.

The employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen; must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Sunday – Thursday, 5:30 pm–2:00 am.

$20.76 – $21.76 per hour.
