The Floor Technician at Lemontree Healthcare is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of all floors throughout the facility. This role plays a crucial part in supporting the facility's infection control measures by ensuring that floors are thoroughly cleaned, sanitized, and polished according to established protocols. The Floor Technician will use a variety of floor care equipment, chemicals, and techniques to maintain high standards of cleanliness and safety in patient care areas, public spaces, and staff areas.

Floor Technician (Floor Tech)
Key Responsibilities:
- Sweep, mop, buff, and strip floors in patient rooms, hallways, dining areas, restrooms, and other designated spaces.
- Perform detailed cleaning and maintenance of floors in all areas, ensuring high standards of cleanliness and sanitation are met.
- Operate floor care equipment such as auto-scrubbers, buffers, waxers, and vacuums tomaintainfloors inoptimalcondition.
- Strip, wax, and polish floors in high-traffic areas to ensure a clean and professional appearance.
- Apply floor finishes tomaintainthe integrity and aesthetic quality of floors.
- Follow proper procedures for cleaning and disinfecting hard floors, including specialized care for different floor types (e.g., tile, vinyl, terrazzo).
- Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and procedures related to cleaning chemicals and equipment use.
- Place wet floor signs inappropriate areasto alert staff and visitors to slippery conditions.
- Ensure that all cleaning supplies and chemicals are usedin accordance with established safety guidelines and environmental regulations.
- Inspection & Reporting:
- Inspect floors regularly toidentifydamage or wear and report any issues (e.g., cracks, chips) to the Environmental Services Supervisor.
- Assistin conducting regular floor maintenance assessments and provide feedback on the condition of flooring across the facility.
- Inventory Management:
- Maintain an inventory of floor cleaning supplies and equipment.
- Ensure that supplies are orderedin a timely mannerto avoid shortages.
- Follow established procedures for the storage and disposal of cleaning chemicals and materials.
- Work closely with other Environmental Services team members to ensure smooth operations and efficient floor care management.
- Communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors about cleaning schedules and any safety measures in place during cleaning processes.
- General Facility Cleanliness:
- Assist with general housekeeping duties as needed, including removing trash and cleaning high-touch surfaces incommon areas.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in storage rooms and cleaning areas.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Previous experience in floor care, janitorial services, or environmental services is preferred.
- Experience using floor care equipment such as buffers, scrubbers, and waxers is a plus.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Formal training in floor care techniques or equipment operation is preferred.
- Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of floor cleaning techniques, tools, and products.
- Ability to safely operate floor care machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
- Ability to follow safety protocols and cleaning procedures.
- Good physical stamina to perform repetitive tasks, bend, lift, and stand for extended periods.
