Trans Mountain Corporation operates Canada’s only pipeline system transporting oil products to the West Coast. We deliver approximately 890,000 barrels of petroleum products each day through a dual pipeline system of more than 1,150 kilometres of pipeline in Alberta, British Columbia and Washington state.
Trans Mountain also operates a state‑of‑the‑art loading facility, Westridge Marine Terminal, with three berths providing tidewater access to global markets.

As a Mechanical Technician with Trans Mountain, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a progressive and fast‑paced group of experts. This position is based out of Bellingham, Washington, USA.
The Mechanical Technician is responsible for ensuring maximum up‑time availability of the pipeline pumping equipment and components and the day‑to‑day safe remote operations of the pipeline.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain facility motors, pumps, valves, mechanical seals, samplers, mixers, thermal relief valves, full flow relief valves, densitometers, flow meters, and all related mechanical equipment
- Responsible for contractor oversight and monitoring
- Emergency Response, GLOBAL and all other relevant mechanical training
- Operations Station and Facilities scheduled checks
- High School completion along with a minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience in pipeline maintenance, industrial mechanic, millwright and/or machinist is required.
- Certification from the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and/or Journeyman certification is required.
- Open to additional company provided technical training specific to job scope.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Must be a team player with a positive attitude and be able to work collaboratively within a small group environment.
- Self‑motivated, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
- Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Attention to detail is critical.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle strict deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills.
- TWIC Card (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) would be an asset.
- Class 5 or above driver’s license is required and a clean Motor Vehicle Record will be requested.
- Valid Passport with ability to travel across the Canadian and USA border for training.
- Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
The salary range for this position is $40.55‑$51.55 USD per hour. The final agreed upon salary may vary based on factors such as job‑related knowledge, skills and experience.
