Job Title: 7th Grade Science Teacher

Reports To: Building Principal

FLSA Status: Exempt

Salary Range: $47,000.00 – $61,750.00

Term: Length of School Year

Benefits: Sick and Personal Days

Insurance: Medical, Dental, Vision and Life Insurance

Summary

To help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible adults.

Responsibilities
  • Meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated locations and times.
  • Plan a study program that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interest of the students.
  • Prepare for classes and provide written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor.
  • Encourage students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
  • Guide the learning process toward achieving curriculum goals by setting clear objectives for lessons, units, and projects, ensuring alignment with overall educational goals and effectively communicating these objectives to students.
  • Qualifications

    To perform this job successfully the ideal candidate must have:
    Illinois Professional Educator License with the appropriate endorsement(s) and a minimum bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

    Evaluation

    Performance will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the Bellwood Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement and Board of Education.

    Compensation

    Provisions are set forth in the Bellwood Education Association Collective Bargaining Agreement. This description does not constitute a contract of employment.
