Operations Manager
BASIC FUNCTION
The function of the team leader as a member of management is to assume responsibility for total team functions relative to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and teamwork.
DIMENSIONSEquipment Used: production equipment including but not limited to forklifts, machine tools, PC's, gauges, and related productive assets.
NATURE AND SCOPEThe team leader will report directly to the Facilitator. Principal responsibilities will be to supervise and coordinate team activities including but not limited to delegating work assignments, inventory management, training new team members, filling in for absent team members, initiating corrective action and performing the verbal step of the corrective action procedure, policy adherence, safety and environmental compliance, quality compliance, records retainment, facilitating the e-cubed process, and conducting huddles.
ACCOUNTABILITIES1. Ensure team compliance to safety and environmental rules and regulations.
2. Conduct team huddles to communicate safety talks and other pertinent information.
3. Ensure team compliance with QS9000/TS16949 guidelines.
4. Perform inventory management to assist with on-time delivery.
5. Setup and operate equipment assigned to the team.
6. Attend department meetings and plant-wide huddles.
7. Provide on the job training to team members including safety and quality aspects.
8. Manage, support, and maintain e-cubed process.
9. Cover for absent team members.
10. Meet performance stands and document shortfalls.
11. Ensure necessary records are retained, such as scrap reporting, downtime tracking, SPC, and set-up sheets.
12. Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTSDegree Requirements:
High school diploma or GED, Associates degree preferred.
- Ability to attain a forklift license within 30 days.
- Ability to work overtime during shift overlaps and when other team leaders are absent.
- Acquire computer skills to work with Microsoft programs.
- Acquire mechanical skills.
- Knowledgeable of SPC.
- Acquire interpersonal skills relative to leading a team: conflict resolution, motivation, delegation, etc.
- Acquire strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience with leading a team.
$25.16 - $30.44
Internal Candidates:Eligibility to Bid
- Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher paying labor grade positions.
- Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration.
- Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job.
- Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.
- Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.
- If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.
- If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.
