Responsibilities
  • Checking work orders, properly selecting processed material, checking for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
  • Operate a power-driven slitter to slit coils into one or more strands.
  • Inspect material during processing to ensure proper quality is maintained.
  • Set up and adjust slitter knives and stripper rings.
  • Run material according to the specifications of the work order.
  • Check slit strands for burrs, scratches, coil set, and ensure they are within camber specifications.
  • Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation in the ERP system.
  • Repair minor mechanical problems as required.
  • Group completed coils together by work order in the designated area.
  • Maintain the work area in a clean and neat fashion.
  • Perform math aptitude/setup calculations as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be able to pass the company mechanical test.
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
  • Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments.
  • Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Understanding of production procedures.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Adherence to health and safety regulations, including constant use of protective gear.
