Responsibilities:

• Check work orders, properly select processed material... checking for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
• Operate forklift to bring material to the production floor or shipping department.
• Follow packaging instructions.
• Operate simple hand tools and machines... automatic bander, core cutting machine, shrink wrapper, nail gun, circular saw.
• Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation.
• Group completed coils together by work order in designated area.
• Maintain the work area cleanly and neatly.
• Remain open to opportunities for advancement into a manufacturing/production role.
• Train new operators, as required.
• Assist supervisor/manager and other operators as needed.
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
• Ability to read drawings and use measuring instruments
• Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
• Understanding of production procedures.
• Analytical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Teamwork and communication skills.
