Pack Line Helper - 1st Shift

Responsibilities:
- Check work orders, properly select processed material... checking for weight, alloy, size, and quality.
- Operate forklift to bring material to the production floor or shipping department.
- Follow packaging instructions.
- Operate simple hand tools and machines... automatic bander, core cutting machine, shrink wrapper, nail gun, circular saw.
- Properly identify all slit material and complete all documentation.
- Group completed coils together by work order in designated area.
- Maintain the work area cleanly and neatly.
- Remain open to opportunities for advancement into a manufacturing/production role.
- Train new operators, as required.
- Assist supervisor/manager and other operators as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Sufficient ability to maintain records and reports.
- Ability to read drawings and use measuring instruments
- Working knowledge of measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Understanding of production procedures.
- Analytical skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Teamwork and communication skills.
