ResponsibilitiesPerform duties to inspect a variety of one‑way clutch assemblies and components, ensuring conformance with company standards, military standards, and customer specifications. Package and prepare units for shipment.
Work from prints, purchase orders, work sheets, schedule sheets, shippers, operating procedures and instructions:
- Plan inspection methods and procedures for final inspections on one‑way clutch assemblies, cages, ribbons, drag strips and static bands.
- Check and verify parts to be inspected with accompanying paperwork, and determine inspection methods and tool needs.
- Set up inspection tools and fixtures, and perform necessary inspection measurements to ensure parts are in conformance with required specifications.
- Calibrate gauges at set intervals.
- Complete required inspection and calibration forms, discrepant material reports, log sheets and manufacturing routing sheets.
- Verify that conformance certifications meet prescribed specification requirements.
- Move and handle discrepant material in accordance with aircraft operating procedures.
- Input necessary data into the mainframe computer and personal computer.
- Clean and degrease components prior to inspection as needed.
- Package completed units for shipments in accordance with customer specifications, prepare shipping documentation, generate and apply code labels and stamps as required.
- Interact with the Customer Source Inspector to obtain shipping authorization.
Use a variety of precision inspection tools and instruments including super micrometer, hardness testing machine, computer‑assisted optical comparator, gauge blocks, gauge fixtures, calibration gauge standards, scale, vacuum‑pack shrink‑wrap machine, carts and hand tools.
Follow safety rules and keep the work area clean and orderly. Perform other related duties as assigned.
