Youth Care Worker
We are looking for a Youth Care Worker to support and mentor adolescent males in a residential program. This role focuses on helping youth develop life skills, maintain structure, and prepare for independence in a safe and supportive environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support youth with daily routines and life skills
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and support
- Assist with service plans and referrals
- Supervise residents and ensure a safe environment
- Conduct room checks and headcounts
- Document activities and incidents
- Provide transportation as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours
- At least 1 year of experience working with high-risk adolescents (preferred in a residential setting)
- OR 3 years of experience working with at-risk youth instead of a degree
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record
- Reliable transportation (proof of insurance may be required)
Requirements:
- Interest in working with youth
- Ability to manage group activities
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
Preferred:
- Experience in residential or social service settings
- Background in social services, psychology, or a related field
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus
