Beloit Health System is looking to add a General Maintenance Technician to our Engineering Team!
- Shift: 1st
- Schedule: 7a - 3:30p
- Hours per week: 40
- Benefits Status: Eligible
- Department: Engineering
The General Maintenance Technician
is responsible for maintaining a safe, functional, and comfortable healthcare environment for patients, visitors, and staff. This position performs a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventive maintenance tasks throughout the hospital and related facilities, ensuring building systems, equipment, and infrastructure remain in proper working order. The ideal candidate is dependable, skilled in general maintenance practices, and committed to providing excellent service in a healthcare setting.
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on hospital equipment, fixtures, and building systems.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance service requests and emergency repair needs.
- Inspect facilities and equipment to identify maintenance concerns and safety hazards.
- Maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as assigned.
- Repair doors, locks, ceilings, flooring, furniture, and other facility components.
- Operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Document maintenance activities and completed work orders accurately.
- Support regulatory compliance and accreditation standards related to facility operations.
- Participate in on‑call rotations and respond to after‑hours emergencies as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow all hospital safety policies, procedures, and infection prevention protocols.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in mechanics, carpentry, electrical, plumbing and general maintenance.
- Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
- Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain DOT licensure.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
