The Lead Environmental Services Technician provides leadership and daily support to the Environmental Services team while performing cleaning and sanitation duties throughout the hospital. This position helps ensure a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, visitors, physicians, and staff. The Lead Environmental Services Technician serves as a resource for team members, assists with training and work assignments, and supports compliance with infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards.

• Perform routine and specialized cleaning of patient rooms, surgical areas, public spaces, offices, and clinical departments.
• Lead daily work activities of Environmental Services staff and assist with scheduling and work assignments.
• Provide training, coaching, and support to new and existing team members.
• Monitor work quality and ensure departmental cleaning standards are consistently met.
• Assist in maintaining adequate inventory levels of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and equipment.
• Conduct inspections of assigned areas and address cleanliness or safety concerns promptly.
• Ensure proper handling and disposal of regulated waste, biohazardous materials, and recyclable materials.
• Operate cleaning equipment such as floor scrubbers, buffers, vacuums, and carpet extraction equipment.
• Respond to emergency cleaning situations, spills, and infection prevention needs.
• Complete required documentation, inspections, and quality assurance reports.
• Collaborate with nursing, facilities, and other departments to support hospital operations.
• Promote compliance with hospital policies, infection prevention procedures, safety regulations, and departmental standards.
• Assist leadership with orientation, performance feedback, and workflow coordination.

• High school diploma or equivalent desired
• Environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or healthcare cleaning experience required.
• Experience with infection prevention and healthcare cleaning standards.
• Floor care experience, including buffing, stripping, waxing, and carpet maintenance
• Strong leadership and team-building skills.
• Ability to train and mentor team members effectively.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.

• Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
