QUALIFICATIONS
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working custodial in a school environment.

Skills and Knowledge

Knowledge of general math.
Prioritize work based on changing situations.
Utilize equipment under various conditions for multiple purposes while using multiple job‑related equipment.
Experience using email and electronic systems to receive and process work orders.
Strong problem‑solving to identify issues and create action plans.
Ability‑based competencies: adapting to changing work priorities; communicating with diverse groups; meeting deadlines and schedules; working as part of a team; handling constant interruptions; displaying custodial aptitude.

Physical Requirements

The job requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; 10% sitting, 60% walking, 30% standing; must support 100 pounds.
Work may be performed in extreme temperatures and conditions with exposure to risk of injury and/or illness; inclusion of work at various heights and cramped spaces; use of PPE; promote safe practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

High and low dusting.

Clean and disinfect bathrooms, shower rooms, classrooms, offices, and other rooms as assigned.

Wash and clean walls and windows as necessary.

Collect and discard waste and recycling to designated areas.

Scrub and wax floors per Custodial Manager's direction.

Perform general maintenance as instructed.

Replenish paper towels, hand soap, and toilet tissue as necessary.

Perform set‑ups as directed by Custodial Manager or designee.

Perform seasonal maintenance to grounds (e.g., snow, ice).

Perform boiler and air‑conditioning checks and log conditions as directed.

Lock and secure all school district property and buildings.

With team members, perform tasks requiring more than one person.

Notify Custodial Manager or designee of mechanical defects or unsafe conditions.

Attend in‑service training as directed.

Obey and adhere to all work and safety policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Comply with district policies, including personnel policy handbook.

May be required to work off‑shift hours on emergency calls.

General Maintenance (examples)

Troubleshooting mechanical and equipment issues.
Light bulb changing, clock/speaker repairs.
Use of hand‑operated drain cleaning tools.
Cleaning and changing filters on machines or HVAC equipment.
Lubricating/greasing equipment.
Installing and repairing furniture.
Painting/caulking.
Repairing signage.
Cutting and installing ceiling tiles and grids.
Installing flooring.
