Facilities and Maintenance Assistant

Job Title

Facility Cleaning & Sanitation

Maintain a clean, sanitary, and welcoming environment throughout the facility.

Clean and disinfect offices, warehouse, and other common areas, including bathrooms.

Empty trash and recycling.

Respond promptly to spills and cleaning needs.

Complete routine and deep cleaning according to established schedules.

Building Maintenance

Perform routine building inspections to identify maintenance and safety concerns.

Complete preventative maintenance and minor facility repairs.

Coordinate pest control and report maintenance issues.

Maintain cleaning and maintenance supplies.

Assist with seasonal building and grounds maintenance.

Warehouse & Operational Support

Maintain clean and organized warehouse, storage, cooler, and freezer areas.

Support composting, recycling, and waste management.

Assist with facility improvement projects as assigned.

Facility Security

Complete building closing procedures.

Ensure the building, equipment, and grounds are secure.

Report safety, security, or maintenance concerns.

Minimum Education Required

High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of education and relevant experience.

Minimum Experience Required

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.

Ability to communicate professionally and work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, customers, and community members.

Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality when appropriate.

Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach throughout the workday.

Ability to safely lift and carry up to 40 pounds.

Ability to push, pull, and move carts and cleaning equipment.

Ability to work in warehouse, cooler, freezer, and outdoor environments as needed.
