About The Role:
The City of Bend is accepting applications for one (1) regular, full‑time Facilities Day Custodian in the Facilities Division of the Real Estate, Facilities and Housing Department. This is an hourly, non‑exempt position represented by the City of Bend Employee Association (COBEA). The City may use this job posting to create an eligibility list for future hiring purposes.
- Provide great customer service.
- Restock restrooms and kitchen.
- Clean common areas such as dining areas, restrooms and other shared spaces.
- Set up conference rooms for larger events.
- Occasionally assist Facilities Technicians with preventative maintenance tasks.
- Maintain and order inventory for night shift janitors.
We are seeking a self‑motivated, dependable professional who thrives in an independent work environment. The Day Custodian role requires strong attention to detail, ensuring all spaces are maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and safety. The ideal candidate communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, and takes pride in delivering excellent service to staff, visitors, and the community.
Highly qualified applicants will bring prior janitorial or custodial experience, familiarity with Microsoft Excel, and a strong customer service mindset.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- 1 year of experience in a similar position and/or performing similar tasks, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the job.

Required Licenses & Certifications- Current and valid Driver’s license per City policies outlined in the Employee Handbook.
- Ability to obtain CJIS certification within six months of employment.
- Basic comprehension of Microsoft Office 365 Suite.
