Position Overview
The Ohio Turnpike & Infrastructure Commission is seeking experienced MW Class II Roadway employees for the Maintenance Department at the Hiram Maintenance Building in Windham, OH. Join one of Northern Ohio’s vital resources and help shape the future of transportation.

Examples of Duties- Install and repair asphalt and concrete
- Joint and crack sealing
- Install and repair guardrail and various types of fence
- Drainage and ditch maintenance
- Roadside clean‑up and mowing
- Cutting and chipping various size trees and brush
- Traffic control and working in high‑speed traffic conditions
- Snow and ice removal
- Operation and transportation of heavy equipment – backhoe, excavator, dozer, roller, skid steer, post pounder, concrete saw, brush chipper, flail mower, etc.
- Operation of large trucks – single and double axle trucks and tractor trailers
- Operation of small tools – jackhammer, hammer drill, chain saw, weed eater, lawn mower, etc.
- Must possess a Class “A” CDL with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement
- Lift and carry 40 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally
- Ability to work long hours if needed, various work shifts, including summer night work, possibly in extreme weather conditions
- Required to be on call outside of regularly scheduled working hours
- Respond to emergencies and accident scenes
- Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, work in confined spaces and elevated or high work areas
- Exposure to fumes, dust, dirt, unpleasant odors, loud noise, vibration, hazardous materials, surface spills, human blood, bodily fluids, animal carcasses
- Class “A” CDL with no restrictions and a tanker endorsement
- Experience installing and repairing asphalt and concrete, joint and crack sealing, guardrail and fence, drainage, roadside clean‑up, tree and brush cutting, traffic control, snow and ice removal, and operating heavy equipment and small tools
- Physical ability to lift and carry 40 pounds frequently and 80 pounds occasionally, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and work in extreme weather conditions
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and strong commitment to safety and quality
