Overview
PAC Machinery is a privately held packaging machinery manufacturer with operations in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. We produce bagging and shrink packaging systems used in medical, pharmaceutical, food, and electronics industries.
Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Field Service Technical Support Specialist will be directly responsible for industrial equipment installation, troubleshooting, and providing direct support to the engineering department. The individual will operate solutions‑oriented, independent, and perform in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment.
- Must possess a good driving record and be able to travel both domestically and internationally.
- Receive and perform field service calls, training, installations, and preventative maintenance on industrial equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions utilizing standard electrical test equipment and identify corrective actions.
- Provide active support to the engineering department in various capacities.
- Manage internal technical support calls, offering guidance and problem‑solving solutions for equipment issues.
- Assist with quality checks on equipment prior to shipment.
- Ability to create and sustain customer relationships.
- Assist with FAT (Factory Acceptance Test).
- Accurately report daily activities for invoicing and tracking purposes.
- Willingness to travel at least 25–50% of the time, both domestically and internationally.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Highly motivated, organized, and self‑directed.
- Computer literate; proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Associate’s degree or higher with a minimum of 3 years of field service experience.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Must have a U.S. passport or be willing to obtain one.
Must demonstrate ability to read work instructions, maintain inventory records, manage deadlines, multitask, perform basic math, and exhibit strong leadership skills.
Proficiency with a variety of hand tools and measuring devices (e.g., screwdrivers, wrenches, measuring tapes/rulers, micrometers).
Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time and must be able to operate in all areas of the plant.
