Maintenance Apprentice

The Maintenance Apprentice reports to the Community Manager and is responsible for performing minor repairs, maintaining the appearance of the property, and supporting residents, staff, and vendors. The role requires a proactive attitude and high professionalism.

• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as requested.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and identify causes of defects.
• Complete make-ready tasks for vacant units, including inspections, punch lists, vendor coordination, and finishing work.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities by cleaning, pressure washing, painting, and general upkeep.
• Support cost-cutting by fixing parts and using materials appropriately.
• Track inventory and manage maintenance supplies.
• Follow safety procedures, report incidents, and attend safety meetings.
• Comply with company policies, fair housing, ADA, and industry regulations.
• Ensure physical demands such as standing, walking, bending, and occasional lifting.

• Minimum 2 years of grounds or porter experience.
• Knowledge and safe operation of maintenance equipment (pressure washer, leaf blower, snow blower).
• Ability to perform minor maintenance and repairs.
• Detail-oriented, thorough, and strong time-management skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and courteous demeanor toward residents, staff, and vendors.
• Basic knowledge of Fair Housing Laws and OSHA requirements.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
