This position is eligible for a $1,500 sign-on retention bonus!

Candidates must pass a pre-employment drug screen and basic physical and have the ability to work full-time (40+ hours per week). The hours for this position are 4th shift, Friday, Saturday, Sunday 7am‑7:30pm. The position is safety‑sensitive due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market.

Position Summary

Based in Berlin, CT, the Heat Treater A‑C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Operations Manager to meet customer specifications, including assisting other employees as needed.

Levels Level C:
Entry Level (0–24 months of heat treating experience)
  • Assists with operations; control and monitor heat treating and related equipment, following written procedures.
Level B:
Mid‑Level (2–3 years of experience in heat treating)
  • Operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required, following procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
Level A:
Senior‑Level (3–5 years of experience and deep understanding of heat treating)
  • Independently operates, controls, and monitors heat treating equipment as required, following procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
  • Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
  • Operates, monitors, and ensures furnaces are operating per written procedures and customer requirements.
  • Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
  • Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
  • Performs other tasks, as required, in support of production.
  • Responsible for the care and treatment of customer’s inventory to prevent loss or damage.
  • Must report to work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co‑workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
Qualifications
  • Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements; must be U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
Physical & Mental Demands
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • May be exposed to heat, fumes, noise, and humidity, etc.
  • Must have cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions.
  • Must communicate effectively orally and in writing.
  • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, files, etc.
  • Ability to hear in person and via phone.
Pay & Benefits Information

The hourly pay range for this position is $22–$27 per hour. Starting pay is determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications. This position is classified as non‑exempt and is eligible for overtime pay in accordance with state and federal law. This role is eligible for additional compensation, including shift differential.
