Position: Sign Language Interpreter (ASL) | Berwyn, Illinois

This role offers a chance to make a significant impact throughout both Extended School Year (ESY) and Regular School Year (NSY) services in a supportive educational environment near Berwyn, IL.

Desired Experience &

Qualifications:

• Proficiency as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) in educational settings
• Working knowledge of both Interpreter and Hearing Itinerant (HI) services
• Experience supporting elementary through high school students is a plus
• Certification or state licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter, if required
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with students, staff, and families
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and student needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily sign language interpretation services during the regular school year (330 minutes per day, full day)
• Offer 100 minutes per week of direct Hearing Itinerant support, plus 180 minutes per month consultative services during the school year
• Deliver full-day interpreter support (1,100 minutes per week) during ESY (June 15, 2026 - July 24, 2026, Monday-Friday)
• Extend 100 minutes per week of direct HI support and 75 minutes per month consultative time during ESY
• Facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff to support access to the curriculum
• Maintain accurate service logs and collaborate with educational teams to ensure student success
