SUMMARY- The Reading Paraprofessional position supports students in the reading program.
- Reading Paraprofessionals work on student days following the T/ESD school calendar year.
- Typical scheduled hours:
Elementary 8:30‑4:00 p, Middle School 8:15‑3:15 p, High School 7:30‑3:00 p.
Position schedule may vary depending on assignment. - 11 paid holidays & 7 days of paid time off (pro‑rated based on start date).
- Hourly pay rate: $23.94 per hour.
- Provide direct instruction to students in the reading support program under the supervision of a Reading Specialist.
- Deliver small‑group reading instruction as part of the regular education intervention program.
- Plan instruction, administer assessments, and participate in the collection, organization, and interpretation of learning data in consultation with the Reading Specialist.
- Candidates must be a PA‑certified teacher.
- Paid clearances & TB screening required.
- PA Child Abuse (Act 151) clearance.
- PA Criminal (Act 34) clearance.
- PA Department of Education FBI use code 1KG6XN.
- TB screening current within 3 months.
- Education documentation – diploma or official transcripts.
- Paid credential renewals.
- 11 paid holidays and 7 days of paid time off.
