Description
Monitors compliance of Food and Nutrition staff to operational standards to assure quality food service to patients, visitors and staff. Assumes responsibility for department operations in the absence of manager.
- SECURITY - Monitors and assures security of assets such as safe monies, two-way radios, computers, food product, equipment, keys, etc.
- FOOD QUALITY - Monitors compliance to all guidelines and regulations for food handling and storage to assure proper food safety of all products. Assesses operations and initiates necessary corrective actions per prevention-based food safety system Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP). Completes and properly files required reports. Assures appropriate food storage temperatures throughout department.
- ADMINISTRATION & SUPERVISION - Communicates with department management regarding operational issues. Assumes responsibility for daily opening and/or closing of operation. Assists manager in staff interviewing, hiring, training, scheduling and discipline as necessary. Assists with employee competency development and evaluation process.
- QUALITY ASSURANCE ACTIVITIES - Leads in services prior to each meal period as needed. Documents quality indicator and makes corrective action when indicated. Monitors safety standards. Documents accident and safety incidents of visitors and staff. Plans, monitors and conducts employee training.
- Participate in job related training and in-service education.
- Performs other duties as assigned to facilitate the operation flow of the Food and Nutrition Department.
- Required:
High School Diploma plus training acquired through work experience or education. - Preferred:
Administrative or technical background acquired through completion of 2 - 3 years of college. - Specify Degree(s):
Culinary experience acquired through culinary school or years of experience in institutional setting. - Required:
1-2 years of previous job-related experience. - Preferred: 3-5 years of previous job-related experience.

Pay Range: $17.30 - $26.81 per hour
Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
