Job Summary
EMCOR Facilities Services has an immediate opening for a 3rd shift Maintenance Technician in Bethesda, MD (10:00pm – 6:30am, Sunday – Thursday). The Technician will report daily to the EMCOR 2nd shift Lead for assignments and support them to provide quality workmanship and high work standards to maintain a professional working environment. Primary responsibilities of this position are to be responsible for the general maintenance needs at the facility and performing general maintenance of equipment as required.
Knowledge of and capable of performing maintenance/repairs and various general tasks assigned. Qualified applicant must be a US Citizen, possess a valid driver’s license and have at least 3 to 5 years of hands‑on experience in facilities maintenance and dealing with a wide range of general type services. Must possess a professional appearance, excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Communicate effectively with the Site Lead to determine service needs. Coordinate and supervise client sub‑contractors while performing service on site.
- Repair walls, floors, doors and perform painting and touch‑up work for beautification of the facility.
- Repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the facility. Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment such as vent fans and circulation fans.
- Maintain a strict PM schedule. Maintain A/C and heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed. Ensure building temperature conditions are within specifications.
- Perform a wide variety of corrective maintenance work requests. Conduct daily rounds and inspection of specified areas and equipment.
- Assist other skilled employees to perform projects as requested.
- Monitor the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range. Promptly communicate operational concerns with leadership until resolved.
- Education:
HS Diploma (or equivalent). - Experience:
3–5 years of experience related to facility maintenance. - Licenses/Certifications:
Valid US driver’s license. - Language
Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of the organization.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to perform various general type maintenance tasks. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence utilizing basic computer skills and ability to communicate via email and internet use.

- Responsible for maintenance and repair of all facility aspects including ceilings, floors, doors, walls, plumbing systems, minor electrical, lighting, parking garages, mechanical rooms, hot water systems, building exterior and grounds.
- Must maintain a strict PM schedule and maintain A/C and heating equipment, change filters and clean coils as needed.
- Must have ability to repair and unclog toilets, urinals, replace and maintain valve assemblies and repair/maintain sensors for automatic flush kits, as well as all other plumbing related to the facility. Responsible for maintenance and repair of air handling equipment such as vent fans and circulation fans.
- Organization skills to maintain the client facility maintenance records and reports.
- Must perform monitoring and adjustments of the building automation computer system to ensure equipment is running and the building temperature conditions are in range. Monitor for alarm conditions, respond and communicate concerns promptly to leadership.
