Job Description:
The Bethlehem Area School District is seeking a dependable and motivated M-1 General Maintenance - Mail Truck employee to perform a wide variety of maintenance, groundskeeping, delivery, and building support duties throughout the District. This is a full-time, 12-month position working Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Responsibilities:
- Safely operate District vehicles to transport mail, supplies, furniture, equipment, and materials between schools and facilities.
- Load, unload, receive, inspect, and distribute deliveries while maintaining accurate inventory and shipping records.
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment, including inspections, lubrication, filter replacement, cleaning, and minor repairs.
- Maintain school grounds and athletic fields through mowing, landscaping, litter removal, snow removal, and seasonal maintenance.
- Operate trucks, tractors, lifts, hoists, winches, and other maintenance equipment safely and efficiently.
- Prepare and maintain athletic fields, including field lining and event area setup.
- Prepare surfaces for painting and perform interior and exterior painting projects while maintaining safe work areas.
- Utilize hand and power tools to complete maintenance and repair tasks.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials.
- Keep District vehicles and equipment clean and report maintenance needs.
- Perform additional maintenance duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and respond to emergency maintenance needs.
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- Basic knowledge of maintenance practices, equipment, and hand and power tools.
- Ability to successfully complete any required employment testing.
