Janitor / Housekeeper
This role provides essential janitorial and housekeeping services in a health center environment. You will maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming space for patients, medical staff, and visitors by cleaning patient rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, as well as handling trash removal and basic customer service in a patient-facing setting.
Responsibilities- Clean and sanitize patient rooms, ensuring they remain neat, orderly, and safe for patients and staff.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms, including toilets, sinks, mirrors, and floors, and restock necessary supplies.
- Maintain cleanliness of common areas such as hallways, waiting rooms, and offices within the health center.
- Perform janitorial tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and wiping down surfaces.
- Remove trash from patient rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas, and dispose of waste in designated receptacles.
- Replenish supplies such as paper products, soap, and other consumables in restrooms and common areas.
- Sanitize high-touch surfaces and equipment to support a hygienic and safe environment.
- Provide courteous and professional customer service in a patient-facing role, interacting respectfully with patients, office staff, doctors, and nurses.
- Follow established cleaning procedures, safety guidelines, and health center protocols.
- Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or supply needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Work consistently during assigned hours from Tuesday through Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Proven ability to perform cleaning duties including dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, and disinfecting.
- Experience with janitorial tasks such as trash removal, surface cleaning, and general housekeeping.
- Capability to sanitize and maintain patient rooms, bathrooms, and common areas in a healthcare setting.
- Strong customer service skills for a patient-facing role, with the ability to interact professionally with patients and healthcare staff.
- Reliable work habits, including consistent attendance and punctuality for a Tuesday–Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. schedule.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic, with a willingness to take initiative and complete tasks thoroughly.
- Ability to follow instructions, safety procedures, and health center protocols.
- Comfort working in a health center environment and being in regular contact with patients, office staff, doctors, and nurses.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, environmental services, custodial work, or similar roles.
- Familiarity with sanitizing procedures and janitorial duties in healthcare or clinical environments.
- Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy health center setting.

Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a health center environment, where you will work in patient rooms, offices, bathrooms, and common areas. The role follows a first-shift schedule from Tuesday to Saturday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. You will be in frequent contact with patients, office staff, doctors, and nurses, and will follow established cleaning and safety protocols. The dress code requires a blue polo, black pants, and closed-toe shoes;
sweatpants or similar attire are not permitted.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bethlehem, PA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr.
